Was sind Sternbedeckungen durch den Erdmond?
Der Erdmond schiebt sich dabei durch seine Relativbewegung zur Erde in die Sichtlinie zwischen Beobachter und Stern oder Planet.
Wodurch entstehen diese Sternbedeckungen?
Der Mond, Sterne und Planeten wandern durch die Erddrehung scheinbar von Osten nach Westen. Tatsächlich kreist der Mond in 27,321 Tagen um die Erde in gleicher Richtung wie die Erdrotation - von Westen nach Osten. Diese Eigenbewegung des Mondes führt zu einer laufenden Verschiebung der Mondposition vor dem Sternenhimmel in Richtung Osten. Diese Verschiebung beträgt etwa einen ganzen Vollmonddurchmesser (0.5 Grad) pro Stunde. Durch diese Wanderung des Mondes vor dem Sternenhintergrund nach Osten, kommt es laufend zu Sternbedeckungen des Mondes. Die Bedeckung von Planeten erfolgt aufgrund
der geringeren Planetenanzahl natürlich viel seltener.
Die folgende Tabelle führt nur helle Objekte deren Bedeckung oder Hervortreten bereits im Fernglas oder kleinem Fernrohr ab 50 Millimeter Öffnung beobachtbar sein sollte. Es werden nur Ereignisse angeführt, die auch am Waldviertler Nachthimmel und dabei über dem Horizont stattfinden.

Elon : Winkelabstand des Mondes zur Sonne
Sun/Alt : Sonnenhöhe, aber nur angegeben wenn Sonne höher als -12 Grad steht
Moon/Alt: Mondhöhe über dem Horizont
Moon/Az : Himmelsrichtung der Mondposition (Nord=0 oder 360, Ost=90, Süd=180, West=270)
