| Participation on a special IYA2009 project: | The mutual phenomena of the Galilean satellites of Jupiter |

| Detailed informations about mutual events: | Institut de Mecanique Celeste et de Calcul des E phemerides (IMCCE) |

| The Campaign of Observations PHEMU09: | The mutual phenomena of the satellites of Jupiter and Saturn in 2008-2010 |
| |
| A worth reading pdf-document from J.-E. Arlot: | Astrometry through photometry: mutual events |
| |
| Tables of mutual phenomena are available from: | FTP server of IMCCE |
Tables about mutual phenomena can be created also with the software Occult 4 from Dave Herald. Tables created with Occult 4 are used in Occult Watcher from Hristo Pavlov. And some informations are also available on the site of the International Occultation Timing Association - European Section (IOTA-ES).
If sun and earth are passing through the orbital plane of the jovian moons it is possible to observe mutual eclipses and occultations over a time period of some months. This events occur in the Jupiter system every six years, in the Saturn system every 14 years and in the system of Uranus only every 42 years.
From my position in northern Austria mutual events in the system of Jupiter are observable in this times:
2002/10 - 2003/07
2009/03 - 2010/01
2014/08 - 2015/07
2021/01 - 2021/08
After I had participated a speech at the Observatory in Paris in November 2008, I have participated the worldwide observation campain 2009 of this mutual events in the system of Jupiter. And because I have the right equipment in the year 2009 I was able to capture some data and send to the "Institut de Mecanique Celeste et de Calcul des Ephemerides" (IMCCE) in Paris.
